EMA confirms talks with developer of Sputnik V vaccine

BRUSSELS, Nov 26 (PRIME) -- The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has had talks with the producer of the Russia-developed Sputnik V anti-coronavirus vaccine, a spokesperson for the agency told PRIME on Thursday.

“The developer has indeed contacted us, we are discussing its further cooperation with the agency… The timing of obtaining the approval is hardly predictable,” the person said.

On Monday, CEO Kirill Dmitriev said that the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) had submitted an application for registration of the vaccine to the European regulator on October 22 and did not rule out that the Sputnik V could be produced in Germany.
